Let's Talk About What This Costs

Most people who ring us have already had a quote from one of the national companies and had a bit of a shock. So here is where we stand.

Our sliding wardrobes start at £799. What you actually pay comes down to how wide the run is, which doors you pick and how the inside is fitted out. A single alcove costs a good deal less than a wall-to-wall run with drawers and shoe racks behind it.

A typical spend is around £1,795 to £2,295, depending on the size of the room and the finish chosen.

One price, covering everything. No hidden extras added later, no evening-only discount, and nobody ringing you the next day to see if you have changed your mind.

We make them, so there is nobody in the middle

The national companies do not make your wardrobes. They sell you a design, order it in and add their margin on top, and you pay for the showroom, the advertising and the salesman's commission as well. We cut and build every door in our own workshop in Pontypridd. There is nobody between us and you, which is the whole reason we can start at £799.

It is also why the two-year warranty means something. If a door ever needs adjusting we made it, so we come out and sort it ourselves. There is no supplier to chase and no case number.

Four Ways You Get Space Back

A door that does not need room to open

A hinged wardrobe door needs about two feet of clear floor in front of it, and in most bedrooms that is the gap you walk through to get to the bed. Sliding doors take none of it. It is the reason a sliding wardrobe fits in rooms where a hinged one never would.

Keep the floor space you walk on

Floor you loseFloor stays yours
Hinged doors, left. Sliding doors, right. Same room, same bed.

The gap at the top and the gap down the side

A freestanding wardrobe stops short of the ceiling and leaves a space at one end, and you lose the lot. Ours run floor to ceiling and wall to wall, so the dead space above your head becomes somewhere to keep the things you only need twice a year.

Turn dead gaps into full-height storage

The gap at the top and the gap at the end, put to work.

The corner everyone else writes off

Sloped ceilings, chimney breasts, alcoves, a floor that runs downhill. We build every unit to the room it is going in, so the bits other companies price around are usually where we find you the most storage. If you have an attic room with a slope and you have been told nothing fits, that is exactly the job we like.

Make the awkward bits the most useful bits

A wardrobe that turns the corner

Put two wardrobes on walls that meet and the doors clash, so they have to stop short of each other and the corner between them is lost. An L-shaped fitted run carries straight round the corner, so that square of floor and all the height above it becomes storage.

A Place for Everything

The doors are what people notice. What you live with every day is the inside.

We work out the layout around what you actually own. Long hanging for coats and dresses, double hanging where you have more shirts than gowns, drawers for the things that never fold properly, a rack so your shoes are not in a heap at the bottom. If you have more bags than sense, we will build for that too.

Nothing gets squashed, nothing gets lost at the back, and you can see everything you own without moving anything else.

What Actually Happens When We Come Round

Letting someone into your house to sell you something is nobody's idea of a good evening, so here is exactly how ours goes.

We turn up when we said we would. We measure the room properly, including the bits that are out of square, because in most houses around here something is. Once the tape measure is away, the fun part starts. Together, we can work out your perfect interior and exterior options.

Then we work out your price. One figure, covering the wardrobes, the fitting and everything in between.

That is the end of it. There is no evening-only discount and nobody rings you the next day to see if you have changed your mind. The design is yours to keep whether you go ahead or not.

Geraint or Josh will be the one who comes round. Not a salesman on commission.

Four Ways to Do It

Mirrored sliding wardrobe doors reflecting a bright bedroom in South Wales

Mirror sliding doors.

The doors we are best known for. Mirrors throw light back across the room and a small bedroom stops feeling like a small bedroom. You also stop needing a separate mirror on the wall.

Big Enough to Manage, Small Enough to Care

Est. 1984

SP started trading way back in 1984 and is still operating today through Geraint, his son Josh, along with other family members, making it a true family business.

The wardrobes are made in our own workshop in South Wales, which means we are not waiting on a supplier and we can put something right ourselves if it needs putting right.

You will deal with the same handful of people from the first phone call to the day the doors go on. That is the part the national companies cannot really do.

The Things People Usually Ask

Ours start at £799. The final figure depends on the width of the run, the doors and how the inside is arranged. Your design visit is free and comes with a proper price for your room.

Most jobs are fitted in a single day, dependent on the size and complexity of the install. We would normally suggest the extra time on the design visit, giving you time to plan for it if necessary.

Yes. We come to you, measure up, create a clear design and work out your price. There is no charge and no obligation to order.

Older houses around here rarely are. Our own fully trained fitters scribe and adjust on the day so the wardrobes sit level and the doors run smoothly.

We keep it to a minimum. Any cutting is done in our van, which doubles as our workshop on the day, so most of the dust stays out of your bedroom. Inside, we put dust sheets down before we start, the room gets hoovered before we leave, and we take all the packaging away with us.

Design, manufacture, delivery and fitting, and we take all the packaging away with us. One price, and nothing gets added to it afterwards.

Usually around three to four weeks. If you are working to a deadline, let us know at the design visit and we will do our best to have everything fitted in time.

Ideally, we would prefer the area to be cleared beforehand. However, we may ask permission to move furniture to allow the installation process to be carried out, but it would be at the customer's own risk.

All materials and our workmanship are covered for two years from the fitting date. Glass and mirror breakages are not normally covered, but we assess each case individually. If we believe the breakage resulted from manufacture or installation, we will consider covering it under the warranty.

There is a gallery of recent jobs further up this page, and we will show you similar work to yours when we come round.

Yes. Bedrooms are the bulk of what we do, but we build fitted storage for home offices and studies too, including desks.
